It is our role to keep quants from making bad investment decisions. in the last few years, Ariston has advised against the purchase of several properties that would have been in need of complete envelope repair, easily saving the client millions of dollars in unrecoverable costs.

Prevention

Prevention begins with engaging the firm early on, in acquisitions or in new construction . Recovery is dependent on several factors, not the least of which is the insurance risk established in policies of the general contractor from the outset.

Solution

Ariston begins every new case in the same way - to reach an agreement through mediation, and avoid the courtroom, placing the outcome in the hands of a jury.


Recovery

In order to recover, the insurance policies must be developed early on and maintained annually to provide completed operations coverage. what a general contractor has coverage for is no important than what it is not covered for and the COI won’t convey that information.

Keeping the elements out

A building envelope is all the external systems that keep out the elements (air, water, heat, light, weather, and noise) and keep in energy.

Ariston’s primary emphasis is on keeping water, in all its forms, as well as unwanted air, from penetrating the envelope and causing damage.

Understanding the big failure

Think of the different components of a building’s exterior as puzzle pieces. In our experience, most problems happen when the puzzle pieces don’t fit together correctly. In other words, most issues occur where the roof, exterior walls, waterproofing connect.
